At BASF PETRONAS Chemicals, we aim to promote and maintain the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being of our employees, through occupational health practices. Besides the stringent safety procedures applied in our operations to reduce or eliminate workplace fatalities, injuries and illnesses, our site also houses a well equipped clinic and an ambulance with full advanced life support equipment. The OH team is led by an OH Physician and a team of trained medical personnels to ensure a reliable 24 hrs provision of first aid and medical emergency service.
Our Industrial Hygiene team focuses on anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of health hazards in the working environment with the objective of protecting worker health and well-being as well as safeguarding the community at large.
The Occupational Health Department also disseminates information through publications and talks to raise the awareness of BASF PETRONAS Chemicals' employees on health promotion. Other efforts by this department includes training programs like First Responders Life Support , Emergency Response Preparedness, Hazard and health risks, assessments on medical surveillance, health risks assessments, workplace environmental monitoring, fitness for work as well as data collection and analysis.
